Gettin old is for pussies! AND MY NEW TRUE people say like Capt. Tom >>>>>>>>>/
"Wow, often imitated but never duplicated. No one can do it like the master. My hat is off to you DRDUCK!"
My first was a woodie water swat, so “Kid’s first” has too many variables to be it.
This duck SW killed….a pristine, unusual, highly plumed hybrid….that’s gotta be in the running, especially if you recognized it as an oddball before shooting it.
I used to draw and paint a bunch as a kid, and I always seemed to paint pintails; they were just my favorite duck despite never having duck hunted….so for me, it was the long sprigged pintail that decoyed like a champ with his three girlfriends that I shot less than a minute before afternoon legal on their fourth circle/swing. It was unexpected, I knew what it was, it was my first ever opportunity, and it’s the only duck that ever made me nervous before pulling the trigger.
Maybe if I get the fire again and start chasing species I have not killed…maybe that will change, but I’ll die a satisfied, happy duck hunter when that time comes if I never shoot another duck.

“I can’t wait ‘till I’m grown” is the stupidest @!#* I ever said!
2 man public SC puddle duck limit is hard to beat.
An SC public water black is the pinnacle these days for me.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
Almost that time again. Hard to believe, but it is. Hearing about BWT in LA and TX already...
I'm sure there are some here .
Bohica's told me in the past he's pretty sure the Delta has a small resident population.
A buddy that manages a very nice place in the ACE told me back in the spring he saw a hen bluewing with a brood.
I'm surprised more don't stick around. High marsh bulrush is prime nesting habitat.

That may well be true. My earliest sighting was July 4 in the Delta.
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him
He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right
They don't put Championship rings on smooth hands
sho nuff....

Hard to beat a pair of firsts like that....
The Wigeon was a first year before.

When I planted rice, the Blue wings were in it thick. We have a good shoot or two.
