Default Retirement gift idea - Firearms

My boss is retiring soon, and we are chipping in on a gift. We’ve decided on a rifle or shotgun, budget is around $1k. Would like some ideas on a solid firearm that fits that budget. Guy hunts some, deer and turkey mostly, and I don’t think he’s a black rifle kinda guy.

    Given that, what’s your recommendation?

Most people like Henry’s. You can even get them decorated with most professions.

Unless it's a 22 for plinking, I believe your other options mentioned of kind of a personal choice. Especially when it comes to fit, finish and caliber. Now a black rifle is what it is and are very fun to shoot.

Yeah, already sent the link out and got everyone’s hopes up. Thanks for nothing Glenn.

As previously stated, rifles and shotguns can be kind of personal. I would get him a nice stainless wheel gun.
