    Default bandit

Strawberry bandit going for a ride. Caught him in about 15 min after setting the trap. My JRT used to keep them under control, even though she would have tore up more than the chipmonk, now up to me.

I shoot 2-5 squirrels out of my yard every week. Never slows down. Gotta love a suppressed air rifle.

the JRT kept the chipmonks down but not the squirrels. She dug up a stump in the yard to get at them. She hated them with a passion. One bite and a quick shake and she was done with them.

    Suppressed air rifle.....

Just walk around with a 12ga. Get them in the cross when they start tree hopping 2 at a time. That is when you know you have become a master class squirrel shooter!

I could get DuckCutter and he would have his new dog trained in a week.

I cant figure out where the heck they come from. Once they get there they have plenty of oak trees and food, but dang it's a hike anyone direction to any "wooded area". I would think they would be afraid to cross pastures for fear of air born predators.
    Yup, he's crazy...

like a fox. The dude may be coming in a little too hard and crazy but 90% of everything he says is correct.

In city limits I cant use a 12 gauge.

    Besides, I enjoy sniping them.

Cant find my exact model but its a lot like this one. https://www.crosman.com/product/crosman-valiant-22

I have a chipmunk in my yard, he ate some of the strawberries my daughter wanted to grow, but other than that we're cool. Surprisingly not many squirrels either, even though I'm surrounded by big mature trees.

When we first bought my house, we replaced a lot of drywall. The house had sat vacant for a while, I'd say close to a year. I pulled the drywall from the ceiling in my office, empty walnut hulls were everywhere, I'm thinking it was the elders of the chipmunk currently living in my yard.

I had to tear the ceiling out of my riverhouse and I fought packrats, coons, possums, and squirrels for over a year until I finally got rid of them. Place sat vacant for several years before I bought it. I am semi religious about rodent eradication by any means necessary.

When that one finally dies on you go to a .22, it is night and day difference.

Dallas NC. Not as many as ten years ago when they were everywhere. They dig up the wife's flower pots and i get orders to get them gone. The berrys were getting gone just about the time they were ripe, thought it was mocking birds but she saw one run off with a berry in its mouth Sunday morning. All it took for war to be declared. JRT used to kill them and i did to, now just ride them couple miles down to the creek.

I’m gonna go ahead and put it out there that there’s a member on here that has all y’all not just beat but destroyed on city squirrel eradication. It’s in the 1000s.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

    For your strawberry patch:

Crush up some dried cayenne peppers and sprinkle the perimeter.
Take some fresh cut up cayenne peppers, crushed garlic, and white vinegar. Boil and strain. Add some oil and spray the plants.

If you want to destroy them, drop rat poison in their holes.
Btw, you won't hear me apologize often, so you may want to put that in your sigfile. ~Mergie

The squirrels haven't been bad in my garden, but I shoot them as I see them. Dang rabbits moved into a brush pile I mistakenly created for them, and they were chewing down my sweet corn 4 per night. 10" up the stalk, they'd nibble through like a beaver and just leave it. I think they're under control now.

Does anyone know what gnaws on potatoes underground? About 1/10 I dug is chewed up. I thought moles, but they are supposed to be purely bug eaters. Maybe rats or mice using their tunnels.
