Does anyone know what gnaws on potatoes underground? About 1/10 I dug is chewed up. I thought moles, but they are supposed to be purely bug eaters. Maybe rats or mice using their tunnels.

I guess I assumed one letter difference in the name meant they eat pretty much the same as moles, but Google says you're right. I've watched a red tailed hawk hunting around my yard, so I bet that's what he's catching, too.
