I haven't driven that 7.3 gasser yet but that will probably be our next work truck.

But the 6.4 hemi is no slouch. I had a first gen in a 2500 with the 6sp transmission when I lived in NM. My only complaint then was the gearing was crap for a gas motor and it needed a couple more. We have a 2022 with the 8sp and other than it being a thirsty hooker, I really like it. A lot.

I know no one buys a truck that size for the fuel economy but damn some of the MPGs on the gassers look terrible.

so what are the thoughts on the new 6.8 gas coming out as Ford's new standard Super Duty engine?

I have a 6.2 in mine and it pulls fine, just dont get in a hurry.

I don’t have interstates, just 17 and 521. Pull my Kubota 75 with attachments and the KX 040 for equipment and occassionally my Southport 28TE. No idea about 80 but it doesn’t break a sweat at 70. 2000-2100 RPM’s loaded out. I’ve had a dump trailer loaded with asphalt milling, 40# of air in the bags and still had some squat. I knew it was back there but the engine wasn’t straining. The only thing I miss about a diesel is the exhaust brake, it’s better than the downshift on the transmission, I just add some gain in the trailer brakes though.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I have a 2017 with the 6.2 gas, I pull with it every week . Does everything I could ask of it. 240,000 miles and still going strong. Couple of coil packs and a water pump is all I have done to it. I have had the 7.3 power, 6.0 and 6.4 I will never ever own another diesel ever. When you have to write a 10k repair check it makes you revaluate if you actually need to go 80 mph up mount MFer pulling 10k. I don't

    It’s a destroked 7.3L. If it’s anything like the Godzilla, it’ll be a winner.

Kevin are you seeing any issues with the 4th gen ('18) Rams. I'm just over 90k so almost out of warranty and ready to delete.

Diesel, as a fuel, still has what, 30% more energy than gas? Hence the superior efficiency of diesel engines.

All them gas engines got issues too. Oh, and screw a Chevy.
