    Default Dredge

This one goes out to Glenn and 2oof. Guys, I’m not sold on using a dredge. I’ve used them here, in the Bahamas, FL, NC, in the Pacific, and I’ve never seen a fish on one. Natural baits (mullets, ballyhoo), plastics of all variety, glittery streamers, those dumbass mudflap things, etc, etc, etc.

    What am I doing wrong?

Not sure if you are being serious or not… I have never owned or run one unless on someone else’s boat and they want to use it.

If there are any weeds around I find them insanely aggravating.

    Ask Bart.

I was trying to figure out today if I could throw an Alabama rig for flounder.

Run a witch doctor off the starboard cleat and Venezuelan bubblers in the shorts. I routinely catch 10+ mahi’s with this setup

    Opposite for me.

I can’t seem to find the dock upon return, after the Venezuelan Bubbler is brought out.

Original Bottomland with a limited supply should do the trick.

billfish aside - does a dredge draw more meat fish to the boat should be the real question.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Than chains? Or more than just lures in the spread?

My favorite way to catch dolphin is reeling up my grouper rig when they see the fish razrs on the hull.

I'm running my bucket dredge from the down rigger. Followed by a bird chain and then lure.

Feels more like passion than irony.

There is a Venezuelan Bubbler in full operational capacity...at your Mom's house.
