I’m liking the alpha 10 from what I saw earlier just browsing for a minute.

It has shock, vibration, and tone, correct?

Yes sir, it has every track and train function that the others do. The only thing it doesn’t have is the built in map screen, but you can Bluetooth the handheld to your phone and it will give you the map functionality, it’s pretty nifty.

Correct, see the shots below. The map is the 10 paired to the Garmin Explore app.

If the garmin 10 only shows direction without a map I wouldn’t go that route. Yes you could get a drive track for truck or Bluetooth it another way but that’s not ideal for my style of hunting. I want to see what side of a creek or best path to get where I’m going in the fastest way possible most times.

In the last month, I have quit using my drive track and have started using the Garmin explore app paired to my alpha 10. I’ll leave both on my ranger. Connected to a long range antenna. I carry my 200i with me into the woods. The Garmin explore out is by far the way to go. You can download the Maps to the app, that way you will always have them with you.

Yep, the explore app has more defined maps which I like.

These new ones seem way more sophisticated than what I really need or even want.

They are detailed, but the downside is they don’t update like the online maps.

Gotcha. I’ve thought about getting an I pad just to have something bigger to look at.
