I've been advocating for that for years. If bad/apathetic parents felt liability for their kids actions, they'd pay more attention. Kids wouldn't learn everything they know from social media and video games.

I wouldn't extend it to kids that have reached the age of majority but certainly minors should be the responsibility of their parents, just like pit bulls should be the responsibility of their owners. If a parent throws up their hands with an out of control kid they just can't control, they could turn them over to the juvenile/military school system but still pay their room and board.

Who determines what's good parenting and bad parenting or when a kid that has been parented properly according to your standards is making an autonomous decision or not?

Any time you're advocating for more laws you need to ask yourself "how will this be weaponized against me?" And if you're answer is "it won't" then you aren't being honest.

As with most things the devil in this scenario is in the details and definitions. And remember who is writing most laws these days and creating those details and definitions.
