So was he hard to find because of all the sweetgum or easy to find because of the scorched earth?
A hurt ankle, huh? Lol. Used to be a lot of deadfall in there where we hunted. A friend called one gamey area “ankle buster.” Last place in the world I’d want to stumble around in after dark.

I swear I could make it from united/halfway creek to the fucking diner in McClellanville by breakfast without getting spotted. I figured a murdering rapist could have at least made it a couple miles during his last day of freedom.
They had it stacked thick with officers. Perimeters formed all around. Units Lined up and down all the roads in the area. Helicopters, dogs, people on foot. Roads closed. He likely had no phone, no bearing on direction, no light, no supplies, etc. Doubt he moved much at all during the night if at all. Bet he holed up close to some residence off united overnight.
Would be curious to see the cost and number of man hours over the last few days.
Glad they got him.
