    Default Remington Finally Catching Up?

I tried watching but wasn’t able to retain anything. I couldn’t stop looking at this guy talk and wanting to put my fist in his suckhole.

Edit to add: just looked up the price point, I think they have a lot of pricing to do before they deserve the right to see a factory gun for $1700.

I'm glad to hear someone else mention this guy's presentation style. His over-pronunciation of every word made me tired.

$1700 will buy a better gun than anything Remington has made in years.

I’m glad I’m not the only one either. Again, I’m partial to Remingtons, they’re all I shot for the first 20 years I hunted. They just aren’t the same. Not even close. I’ll still shoot a deer with my 1974 700 chambered in 7mm rem mag. It’s a tack driver. But not $1700. They really think they can make 4 or 5 extremely basic “upgrades” and charge an extra $1k??? The sendero model was the top of the line back in the day and you’re charging more than it for what again?

If I’m going to pay upwards of 2k for a production rifle, it’s going to be a waypoint 2020 , for those who don’t know what that is google it. My brother has one in 6.5 prc and I would have one in 308 if an insider hasn’t told me to hold off that they will be coming out with long action calibers in the near future

Begara still makes a better Remington than Remington.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Are they gonna sue Remington or are they making the "new" guns for them? Dang sure do look a whole lot alike.
    Yup, he's crazy...

I’ve actually had my hands on one. It’s nothing like the old 700s. A 700 in name and footprint only. The same rifle a lot of “ Custom” gun makers are building.
For all you gun experts who think $1700 is too much let’s do some simple math:

Action is comparable to a Defiant Tenacity $1000
    Stock AG composites $700
Extended mag box and bottom metal. $300
    Timmy elite hunter trigger $179
    Fluted match grade barrel $350

Total of components BEFORE assy. $2529

So Remington is selling a rifle with mostly aftermarket parts and still calling it a Remington?

The Remy 700 chassis is the Chevy 350, the AR15 of the bolt gun world. You can do what every you want and its easy to trick out and customize.

Yes. They may make the action and barrel in house.

They had to do something about the triggers after all the law suits.

They went with the x mark and that trigger was horrible.

The original had its issue and literally an .07 cents piece would have fixed those.

The tim is a tried and trued trigger.

I actually expierenced first hand the original
Going off when the safty was flipped thank God it was down range.

A buck came out chasing and I couldn’t tell how big it was at dark and flipped the safty and too my shock the gun went off.

Everybody uses aftermaket parts. Bergara uses Trigger Tech triggers and AG stocks on their high end rifles. Same for the Springfield 2020.

Remington has made this move way too late. Others have come along and improved on their design, taken those aftermarket offerings and produced a superior rifle while they churned out actions that you could file ballistic plate with. Components were terrible like that XPro trigger and those Tupperware stocks yet they still cost more than the competitors.

I’ll take your word for it that the new ones are much nicer. There’s a few older 700’s and some late models in my vault. All of them are very accurate and do what they’re designed to do. Albeit, the later models don’t resemble their purchased form.

I hope they get it right and it’s what you say it is but I’d be hard pressed to spend $1700 on one right now considering the last few I bought.
