I thought it was oil not mud?
“Duck hunting gives a man a chance to see the loneliest places …blinds washed by a rolling surf, blue and gold autumn marshes, …a rice field in the rain, flooded pin-oak forests or any remote river delta. In duck hunting the scene is as important as the shooting.” ~ Erwin Bauer, The Duck Hunter’s Bible, 1965

I can’t speak for the Lowcountry or the upstate but the grand strand region has historically always opened on April 1st and there was no logical reason to move the season forward into March.
Low country politics get what they want. Deer season in august, dog dog drives, bait, they can have it all. Upstate? Who cares, make them have rules.

Good to see it. The National Forests which are the majority of our public land here now allow a proper weekend of hunting.

Hopefully we'll see all WMA land in the future open to Sunday hunting.
