Default Swollen eyes from bushhogging ?

I run into this every year

Was at farm today bushhogging spots I plant an egyptian wheat mixture to shield clover plots and give deer plenty of cover

Also did some other cutting as well while I was there

This time of year every time I do this I end up with swollen itch eyes, I guess it is the ragweed

I wear sunglass and a dust mask but seems to not help, even thought about some of those goggles off road folks use but not sure if that would help

Any ideas, nope not getting. cab enclosed tractor anytime soon

If I bushhog this time of year I have a severe allergic reaction every time. I leave it until August now. Zyrtec and Claritin doesn't make a difference, 3 Benadryl helps but I'm useless the rest of the day.

    I wish you luck.

When I do it, I just plan on taking a benadryl and going to bed about 9:00.

Maybe wear a buff and some glasses. And take some form of allergy meds before. Then wipe off with a cool wet towel

Before you start, do a 4 hour dose of chlorpheniramine.

Spray a tank of liquid Treflan off that open tractor and you will quit worrying about the sniffles. Of course, you will be able to run down to Texas and pass as a Yemeni refugee and get full benefits so there is that...

Full coverage goggles will help more than anything. Take a shower as soon as possible when you’re done.

Assuming allergies…. Allegra (works better for me after I graduated from claritin) a few hours beforehand and flonase. Try to work upwind if possible. Opthcon A eye drops or pataday drops (used to be RX only allergy eye drops). There are also RX nasal sprays, I use one sometimes but cant remember name and can look later. Wash off, flush face with water, eyes with saline.

I never had any issues with allergies whatsoever but in the last few years stuff started getting me. I was getting sinus infections and overall feeling shitty from it 4-5xyear which equated to a month or more a year. Tired of it, I went through blood allergy testing and the needle testing or whatever where they stick you in your back. Dust mites was major number one and cant remember order of the rest but ragweed, lugustrums (all around my house), some other tree stuff (not pine or oak which I was suspecting), roach shit, possible shellfish (seems to be only shrimp sometimes, I think the cheap foreign farm shit), rice and a few other things.
Once identified I stay away from that stuff and or medicate appropriately and it has been great ever since. Call me a pussy if you want but adult onset allergy stuff sucks.

That stuff is bad news. I have to take Tylenol ahead of time because of the headache.
