    Default Monetary Impact

This is another reason to allow submergent vegetation to grow in Lake Murray and Santee.

Wonder how much money jet skiing brought in?
    ________

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–Big time fishing tournaments mean the community around Lake Murray has reeled in millions of dollars.
A spokesperson for the Capital City-Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism board says over the past six months the lake has hosted multiple professional fishing tournaments including the Black Bass World Championship as well as Bassmaster and Major League Fishing events.
Officials say the tournaments brought in an estimated $6 million in tourism impact and $52 million in marketing value.

Keep it out of Santee. All of it, including the jet skis.

Why would you want the grass out? Jet skis I understand but grass? As a duck hunter and a fisherman, its a big help.

I will NEVER forget throwing a buzzbiat over hydrilla at Murray in the 90's and them 5 pounders crushing it like a great white shark. Good times

Yea I will never forget walking across the hydrilla in the 90's in Santee.

    FUCK that..

    SONAR baby

SONAR! By the ton. Air drop it like napalm. Kill every damn piece of grass weed or stump, and jet ski.

Nice sandy bottoms, preferably with pea gravel.

Yeah, I remember when Santee used to be more than a fucking mudhole/catfish farm.

Bass fisherman come and go. I think we are for that. Resort tourism is a different story. Hope this helps.

Well half the time y'all complain about all these hey bo flat hatters duck hunting and ruining public lands. So I'm not sure. Not sure what the difference is between that and a bunch of folks clogging up the roads and or zipping back and forth across the lake??

I’ll be all for it when my taxes and cost of living go down as a result of all this “growth”.

The growth is one large factor in the increased cost of living. All of the Southeast is experiencing it. A lot of people fled a lot of blue states in 2020-2021, and for good reason. I would've done the same.

Not long ago the Southeast was known for lower cost of living. Now it's not much different than most states unless you want to live 2 hours from a gas station.

We're desperate to get out of this 1/4 acre neighborhood living and get on some land, but the inflated prices and interest rates 2.5x what we're paying are keeping us right here for now. I often wonder if I'm waiting for something that'll never come and before we know it, 50k an acre will be considered the "cheap" land.

I have stayed stead fast in my opposition to weeds/grass. In Santee. I've taken heat for it over and over, but I will not move on it.

Throw more carp in I dont care how skinny they are or get load up a C130 and Sonar up and hose anything that even looks like grass or weeds.

Grass=Fish=Fishermen. Fishermen come and fish then go home. Yankees and jet skis come to stay.

Well, I am dumbfounded. Of all the stuff Silent has posted across this forum and this is the thing that baffles me.

Wonder how much tax money these locations paid Bassmaster and MLF to come?
