Default private pesticide applicator license- What's the scoop?

What's the easiest route to getting a pesticide license so I can buy restricted use chemicals for my own land?

Call clemson extension, sign up for class. And pay like $100 to get the license

It’s not bad. I took it while at HGTC.

I think the class is like 8 hours now. Call local Clemson Extension office.

And I’ve yet to see a free lunch. Clemson has been charging for some events lately.

Young Farmers or Cattlemens associations have meetings with renewal credits occasionally.

    Thanks for the replies.

Clemson doesn't host a lot of events anywhere near Charleston. When I checked into this several years ago, just taking the class meant spending a day in Columbia.

I let mine laps several years ago, and had to retake the class. Mine was in Monks corner.

I’ve held a commercial applicator’s license in the past but never a private one. I’m certain the commercial has lapsed. I’m still able to buy Restricted Use chemicals. As a matter of fact I don’t ever remember not being able to buy them even before the commercial license.

Contact your local extension office and ask for dates to do the private applicator training and exam

The Clarendon County Clemson Extension office is trying to put a class together. If you're interested, call them and ask for Hannah.
