    Default WTB Toyata Tacoma

Looking for a 4 door Tacoma for my son. Whats a '15 or newer with less than 100k going to cost me? Anyone got one they're ready to let go?

JBK, if waterbreaker is not interested, shoot me a pm with what you are thinking on the 13 Tacoma.

Here's the KBB site for getting a fairly accurate $ value of any vehicle you're looking at. It's best if you can get the VIN as it will give you VIN specific value.

Don't forget to edit the mileage so it's up-to-date when it calculates.

    https://www.kbb.com/

These numbers just got me a $1000 drop in a 4Runner I looked at today when I showed the women she had been basing her number on a retail dealer pricing vs private party, with the updated mileage number. I need to have a mechanic check it out first, though, as it came from Kentucky and I'm not real happy with some of the oxidation and rust I saw.

Here's another site I've found to be very useful. Look up whatever vehicle and model year you're looking at and get an idea of what any issues are. It just stopped me from looking at white Toyota's in certain years.

That's probably the nicest compliment I've ever received from this gang of nutcrackers. I can be a hard nut to pull a fast one on...

    Thanks, SiverFox.

What can I say? I sure wouldn't pay that much for it, but someone just might around here. If I was interested in it, I doubt I'd offer him more than $20K or so, but here's the KBB Market Value number I just ran to see. It says his price is right in the middle of the 'Fair Market Range'. Beats me...

Yeah I looked at that one. I can’t see paying that for a truck with that mileage

Still looking. Also I'm seeing a lot of them with salvage titles. Anyone have knowledge why so may are getting totaled?

If they have a Carfax report available, look at the location of the owners and if it details the extent of any accidents (which a salvage title would undoubtedly have). You may also be seeing vehicles that were flooded out in Florida last year being rebuilt/remodeled, etc. My brother in FT Myers says there were thousands of vehicles just parked in empty lots down there after being totaled out. That's where the ownership and servicing locations will give you a heads up.

The same with it being a vehicle from anywhere North of NC/Easter TN, etc, where they use salt/salt brine on the roads in the Winter. And if the Tacoma is in the year classes of the rusty frame problem, you may see Northern vehicles moved down here with rusted frames that may or may not have been repaired properly or replaced in the extended warranty period.

What years are you looking for? And what models? I've run across a number of Tacoma ads to replace a temporary vehicle I picked up for my wife, but they're pulling high prices, just like the 4Runners.
