    Default Brooding??

    We have a silky.
The ole gal just is begging for eggs apparently.

She started out with 2 of hers

She is up to 7 clearly not all of hers but she is loving it.

Mean while my wife starts telling me about this noise she is making.

    She says it’s normal.

I tried to get her to get her to do it.

She can’t roll “r’s” so my guess is it sounds like Ricky what ever living lavido loco.

She showed me some face book videos

    Obviously this happens.

    I haven’t heard it personally.

    Just curious.

    Is this normal?

And is it normal for silkies to adopt other hens eggs?

Again she is up to 7
    Yup, he's crazy...

like a fox. The dude may be coming in a little too hard and crazy but 90% of everything he says is correct.

Sort of like Toof. But way smarter.

I had a hen that brought off 15 chicks.
Next day she had 12. The other three were following another hen, and she was mothering them like they were her own.

As far as chickens raising quail, I was interested in trying it, but the internet research I did was pretty discouraging. Seems chickens carry a respiratory virus thats pretty hard on quail. Much reduced survival of the chicks, and the survivors are carriers themselves.
