    Default Airport rant

Buddy and I got to Charlotte airport 2 hours early. Make it thru security no problem. Got an hour to kill before boarding the plane when he gets paged to the desk.
TSA had somehow broken the lock on his gun case and nobody in the entire damn airport has another lock.

I went on ahead so I can get the rental car and our other baggage and he had to get a cab to Walmart to buy another lock and will be on the next flight.

    I hate airports.

Hopefully this is the worst thing that happens on this trip and a year from now we will be laughing about it.

I will next time if I ever fly again. We are going to Idaho.

Currently I'm sitting in Minnesota and he is in Michigan. Then he goes to Utah and sometimes this afternoon we will both be in Spokane. Hopefully

Trust me, never let Big Brother borrow an anvil unless you want to buy a new one...

I usually try to think of everything but I've never traveled with a spare lock...I will now, though.

Speaking of locks...I ordered 20 identically keyed locks from Master lock so I can have one key for everything.

You can drop it down in a sock and beat the crap outta people in a pinch.

I EDC concealed an old school PE gym dial combo lock in an appendix carry orange striped tube sock.

Can you get separate insurance on guns you travel without outside the airline? There’s limits on what they pay is why I ask.

I travel with my guns quite often. Invest in a good case. My cases have a key lock in addition to a combination lock. The airlines are rough on gun cases. I've had 2 forends busted by those gorillas.

I’m just jealous you’re going to hunt Merriams. Good luck.
