US Merchant Marine Academy vs Texas AM

My son wants to go Navy Nuclear and has NROTC scholarship to Texas AM in Galveston and also received appointment to US Merchant Marine Academy. Anyone here have experience with USMMA. We just got back from a visit and was wondering if there were any graduates on here or someone with experience. Thank you

Navy Nuclear questions you can feel free to reach out. USMMA questions I’ll have to defer to someone else. I’m pretty sure their graduates can commission in any branch through an application process, other than that my knowledge wanes.
