Planted a flat of Cherokee purples before the rain started and 40 asparagus crowns. Gonna have to wait on the rest.

Got our cukes, maters, and peppers in the dirt Thursday. As luck would have it, that storm Thursday afternoon came with some pea gravel sized hail. Looks like we came out okay, but will no for sure in a day or two

I ran frost protection (sprinklers) on my blueberries during those last frosty mornings and saved 95% of them. The plums are a different story…

I've began planting blueberries and figs at my home garden area, actually the longer path sides on the way out. I doubt any of them will produce this year. It kinda hurts.

Maters in the ground for about a week. Collards, broccoli, and early lettuce are about played out. Mustard, arugula, Swiss chard, and second planting of lettuce are producing well. Potatoes are almost 2 months in, garlic and onions about 5 I think.

How you all keep the squirrels off the blueberries? Them littler fukers will eat your maters too. I got the deer figured out and whack away at the little rodents but they sneaky!

22 LR and .410 #5 shot works pretty good. I have top go on a killing spree before i plant tomatoes. Chipmunks like them too. Used to have a Jack Russel that kept the chipmunks in check and ran off all the squirrels.

I got more arugula growing than I know what to do with. Unlike lettuce, which is just crunchy water, arugula has a lot of flavor. I've been eating it since I was a kid and love it.

Tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and okra are all still small but growing and ready for the heat to turn up a bit. Basil is starting to grow better. Not complaining about a cool start to May, it is nice, but we need some heat for all those to really grow.
