    Default Garden

My tomatoes are in the ground, along with a few other things, but mostly tomatoes. Store bought tomatoes are for undeveloped palates.

    Two weeks late.

    Thanks for the thread.

I was going to wait, but I got a little help today.. then I'd be reeling with the entire Carolina Cup deal this weekend.. so I figured I'd get everything in the ground before exhaustion. The extended looks good enough. Hopefully I won't have to cover anything

I've got a few mounds of cucumbers.. didn't for some reason plant squash, or even zucchini this year.. my wife wanted peppers still, not anything hot. I feel like the size of mine that is fenced is big enough.. but wasted space gets me. Then I still have a mess of herbs, my flat leaf made it through last year and sage. Then a chunk of my yard is landscaped in lavender, rosemary, and mints. The bulk of mine plantings are Cherokee purples, then several different heirlooms

At some point I'll try to get a few cute little heirloom watermelons in the ground.

The best gardens I’ve ever planted have always been planted on Good Friday.

Planted a handful of tomato plants, jalapeños, carrots (seeds), okra (seeds), and onions (according to the other thread this is a month late) last week along with several herbs. Still have rosemary, mint, and flat leaf parsley from last year. Okra and carrots haven’t come up yet. Not sure about them as the seeds were at least a year old. Picked up some new seed today (beans, cucumber, watermelon, butternut squash). Also gonna get some summer squash plants soon and still have some silver queen seed from last year.

Yeah, I used to never plant before Good Friday, still my father's word. I've been burned a couple times. I've also had a solid freeze on am Easter morning. I remember the last one very well. I was actually turkey hunting, in the morning no less with my dad.

much like rh's deer calendar, its not the date that matters....its the relative date to the position of the moon.
    good friday is too general.

I stagger my tomatoes. got probably 20 in the ground thus far...
