    Default Fish bedding question

Do fish (any species) go on bed and lay eggs based solely on water tempratures?

Is there any other ingredient to the recipe?

Yes but not all feel the heat at the same time. Most of the crappies and bass in a given body of water will spawn at the same general time within a couple weeks. Full moon also speeds thing up. Our local lakes when dogwoods in full bloom mast bass are post spawn.

The length of day was what i was wondering about mainly.

So I found water that was 69.8 degrees yesterday and the shellcrackers usually bed at or around 70 degree water. Sure seems early

This if your fishing for the shellcracker and your throwing towards the bank and no hits.... Turn around throw out the other side of the boat. Aka your backside
