I don't understand how a man that's as brave and selfless as Day was during his time in the SEALs could fall as far as to become so selfish and helpless to commit suicide.

God bless you, Mr. Day. You are a hero.

It's easy to say that you don't know how, or don't understand why someone would do such a thing. The thing is, you have no idea what that man has been through. You have no idea what his brain would make him live and relive, over and over again. That kind of individual is wired much differently than you. And that wiring does not just go back to civility once you come home.

    That's what war does
Sometimes I would wonder if my wife would be there when I got home
    Would she even recognize me
Maybe there wouldn't have been enough left of me to hold onto
Maybe the best of me is gone

You come home and you're half a person
The other half is still over there, where at least it makes sense
Even with the bullets and blood and the chaos
    you knew what mattered most

The best of me is gone
I am but half a man

PTSD and traumatic brain injury are real.

I'll argue that PTSD is overdiagnosed.
    as is ADD.

I'm not saying that's the case here, but I cant contemplate suicide any moreso than I can transgender stuff.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.

It's very easy for me to say because it's true.

Suicide is, at it's core, a selfish act done out of desperation for something to be over with.

If you read Mike Day's book, he talks about the very things he suffered that ultimately contributed to his death.

Very sad. May God bless him and watch over his family.

Sad indeed. These folks could have helped and probably saved his life. The work being done with this group is nothing short of miraculous.

If you want to help someone, get them to reach out and send them a donation so they can get these guys well.
