    Default FMU Planetarium

Does anyone have a contact? I remember going on many a field trip back in the day there. My small kids specifically my daughter is really enjoying sky gazing in the evenings. I can navigate and I know just enough of the big constellations to know I need help when she starts asking what this and that is.

Last night was simply beautiful. We sat looking up at he stars last night, and saw Venus and Jupiter!

But it made me realize how cool the stars are and we often just pass them by. I would love to have someone that can point to all the different stars and point out the constellations so we can pick them out in the sky. The planetarium seemed like the best avenue to learn?
    Yup, he's crazy...

There is an app for that. It’s called skyview. May not be your thing but it works. It will even guide you to something specific you may want to find.

SkyView is a cool app. She’ll enjoy that for a little while

X3 on the app. Probably not as neat as a planetarium, but works pretty good laying down outside on a clear night.

I cold knocked on the observation tower, it was locked up tighter than dicks hat band.

I found a number I called seems like they are open on Sundays from 2-4.

Thanks for the apps. I'm down loading and trying.

I do want to have some natural knowledge in tow!

You can't go wrong with the SkyView app. I thought I knew a decent amount, but when my youngest took an interest in the stars I downloaded the app and learned a ton. It's really neat. You can even point it at the ground and it will tell you what constellations are on the other side of the world. I highly recommend.

You can contact Jeanette Myers at 843-661-1441; she is the director/coordinator of Astronomy and a professor. She will be glad to answer questions or give you the schedule. They hold regular sessions. MG

Also, FMU has an observatory that opens to the public. Being removed from town as we are, there is minimal light pollution and makes for a great viewing experience. MG

I appreciate the number I called her.

I think you know were I am. If not ask DT.

But I called the young lady. I'm looking forward to a date!

    Thank you
