Default Carpenter bee season has started.

I just got my first of the season with my trusty old Daisy BB gun. He was spunky, pissed off and didn't do a lot of hovering. He was chasing every bug and falling leaf.

    Need trophy tailgate pics.

I've got a few buzzing around. Need to find my daughter's daisy and I'll plink them with a pink Daisy.

I shot one down yesterday with a well aimed stream of Spectracide. Led him like a dove.

I already sent him off to the taxidermist. I'll check to see if I have any game cam pictures of him so we can estimate his age.

Have you rubbed it down with yellow onion?

Kill a couple another way and put them in the trap.

Keep moving the traps around to find a good spot. I had the same problem. Like ducks, you gotta be on the X.

I just want to remind you guys, I'm not impressed by pass shooters. I'm all about getting them to decoy...

You're slipping. I was expecting a vintage red Ryder with a bevy of bees lined up.

Salt it with a couple of dead ones from the same area. I've got some traps that draw them like flies to honey, and others just 10' away that get very few, but the ones with several dead and maybe a half dead one in it do get attention.

I got a 'Salt Gun' for Christmas, so guess I'll have to grab a beer and go hunting soon.

This. Make sure of your backstop, though. I didn't think rat shot would shatter a hanging basket that just so happened to house a plant that a little old lady from church gave to my wife right right before she died.

Woodie, I shot a Japanese hornet last year with my bug a salt. He shook his head and took the salt gun away from me and beat the crap out of me with it. I'm down to go full on navy seal special ordinance on bugs these days.

With the scarcity of rat shot, I won't be wasting any on bees.

I love shooting them with a weak BB gun on the wing. I miss a lot but when I finally connect, it's always a fist-pump moment.

Pcole, those dang Jap hornets are tough buggers! I was disappointed when I read in the instructions that you needed to be within 3'. Might have to hook up an extra air bottle and the compressor... LOL

Got in on the fun today. Shot 3 out of the air with my childhood red rider. Only able to recover 1.
