    Default Chainsaw won't run right.

I have a Stihl MS170 that will crank easily but bogs when I try to rev it up. I can gently rev it and get it spun up but a rapid stab on the trigger makes it shut off. It also has poor torque when I try to cut with it. I've replaced the fuel with fresh fuel. I've replace the carb and carb gasket. Fuel lines and filters seem good and not clogged. Any chainsaw whisperers here that can offer advice?

I cleaned that and smoked the muffler with a torch. I'm pretty sure that isn't it but I'll check it again.

    Checked the air filter?
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Yes and replaced it with a new one. I have even run it without an air filter.

Muffler screen, easy fix. And replace the spark plug.

old fuel still in the lines. I had the same issue last weekend with the same saw. I let it idle for 5 minutes or so and then she warmed up and cut just fine.

Replaced fuel, replaced spark plug, ran it for quite a while even at a high rpm. I'm using fresh fuel that runs fine in my other saws and brush cutter. This isn't a very old saw either.

Replace primer bulb too. A pin hole leak there in a buddy’s hedge trimmer drove me insane trying to figure it out. Had same symptoms

I'm going with partially blocked jet. There's not much to that carburetor. Pull off the diaphragm cover and check diaphragm, then clean and blow out housing. A set of orifice drills will get the jet cleaned out proper even if it looks clear.

Edit: after checking lines and replacing filter like said above.

Replaced carb. No primer bulb. I put seafoam in it. Replaced fuel line and fuel pickup filter once. I don't have a compression tester but it seems to have decent compression judging by how hard it is to pull start with and without the plug and feeling the pressure at the spark plug hole with my thumb while I pull the rope.

    I don't sell stuff.
