    Default 18:04

New 5k PR today at the Race4Love 5k near Beaufort this morning. Weather was fair. Temps were good, rain was light, but it was a bit breezy. Ran nearly perfect even splits; 5:44, 5:41, 5:48, 5:30(.1). I just knew I had the sub 18 but was let down apparently by my watch (17:46??). This was a certified course so I know the course wasn't long. Managed 2nd place, pretty much solo. I knew the leader and knew I'd be a distance 2nd. I was able to keep him in my sights at least.

Nice job! If I want to move a mile in under 7 minutes I’m calling an Uber. Great day that’s rolling.

If I'm running a 9/mile pace, I feel like I'm moving. You'd lap me without even trying.

    I couldn't do a 5k in under 18 minutes if I rode a bike. Wow.

Apparently I’m missing something. Why are there 4 splits for a 5K? 3.1 miles? Good run

A 5k is 3.1 miles. The last split was only 0.1 miles.

    wow. Congrats again.

I ran my first one yesterday and was just glad make the entire race running. It was a great experience and look forward to another one in 3 weeks.

The guy who won this 5k was at 16:33 and 2nd was 17:49… pretty wild

Ran my first one with my daughter at Thanksgiving and was happy to just run the entire thing. Nice work

Thanks guys. Nice to see some of you running some races as well. Hopefully my running posts can inspire folks to get out there and log some miles. There's still time to get in shape and run fast, even after 40. I've been slowly getting faster since starting running in my late 30's.

He ran a low 17 but he's capable of low 16's if he had some competition.
