Yep. There used to be a tornado of wigeon that would form over Rice Hope as the tide was coming in. They would get to feed for a couple of hours before there was enough water to get in the field with an outboard by then, of course, they'd be fed up and gone. It was, at the time, an unsolvable duck puzzle.
We went in, one time, in the middle of the night so we could ride the tide out and be there in the morning when the water and birds returned. It was still a tough hunt since we were still sticking out some. We killed a couple of wigeon but lost one to an eagle because the water was still too low for us to get the boat to the downed wigeon. It wasn't worth the work.
