BS hype. Feral hogs with varying degrees of Russian boar genetics have been around for years.

Yup...but they haven't been living in the prairie pothole region. The big game herbivores here in SE Wyoming can take a pretty nasty hit from particularly nasty winter weather, and it doesn't really get too bad here for extended periods of time. I suspect that they are terribly vulnerable and weak in northern NoDak and Montana, and one more group of predators aint a good thing. If a bunch of hogs gets established in the grasslands that are major duck breeding grounds, it'll make an impact. There aren't many acorns or corn fields for them to destroy to satisfy their appetites, but a pile of duck eggs and ducklings in knee deep water would be an irresistible buffet. Hogs suck everywhere, but imagine the number of hogs that are tearing up the woods and fields in SC running roughshod in the prairie potholes.
“I can’t wait ‘till I’m grown” is the stupidest @!#* I ever said!
