    Default greenhouse heat methods

put some windows in an old outbuilding in my yard. makeshift greenhouse. got some seeds started. no power out there.
could run a big long patch cord and hook something up but not the best plan.
anybody got any alternative ideas to keep some heat in the greenhouse?
anybody else start things from seed? when do you start your tomatoes?
right now i've just got lettuce and a few early bird tomatoes going.
when do you take them out of the tiny pot and put them in a bigger one?
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.

Set it on fire, then come get this greenhouse out of my yard. Free. I'll even stand there and drink beer while you figure out how to move it. You're welcomed

Just go in there and talk to yourself. All that hot air coming out of your mouth ought to raise the temp inside high enough that you can even grow okra.

Lots of alternatives to heating it, but I'm sure you would complain about the price.

Hope that puts things into perspective.

    https://helpmecompost.com/home-compo...e%20greenhouse.

The New Alchemy Institute in Massachusetts conducted experiments using a 25-cubic yard compost pile in a 576 square foot greenhouse. The compost pile raised the internal temperature to between 23°F to 35°F above the outside nighttime winter temperature.

Found that with google so its undoubtedly BS

I just started a big tray of tomato and pepper seeds in my detached garage this past Sunday. I put them under a light on a timer that runs the light about 8 hours a day. I'm using a heat pad for the first time this year to speed up germination a bit, but I've grown plenty of seedlings in past years without one. You can up-pot them after they develop true leaves, but I usually let mine grow a bit in the tray, then re-pot. Make sure you harden them off before putting them in the ground. Also helps to run an oscillating fan over them from time to time while they're in the tray to toughen them up a bit.
