Unions are next in college sports. Just wait. With money like this being tossed around Unions will be knocking on your high school kids door that’s getting recruited and NIL money involved. The NCAA is stupid for ever allowing this in this format. They should have just let everyone continue to cheat and throw down some random sanctions every now and then when a coach pays for a cheeseburger for a kid like old times. College ain’t pro. If you’re good enough to get paid then you go pro after college, football at least. NBA nipped this shit in the bud. Go straight from high school. That’s what they should get the NFL to do. Then all these dip shit 17 year olds that may think they’re entitled to NIL can go compete with pros. If they’re good enough, which most aren’t at that age, they’ll make it and get paid. If not bye bye and back to college. Baseball has done that too. Hell let them try to get drafted out of high school and retain their college eligibility. If they keep NIL they should add salary caps for rookies like NFL and MLB. If they don’t do that, then give a kid the option of scholarship and stipend like old school or NIL. If you take NIL, ALL BILLS are yours, tuition, room and board, food you pay. For them to get these types of ridiculous offers, they should have some skin in the game, other than playing.
