Depends on the application….Arsenal, Escort, Glyphosate are typically the norm.

There is a long list of forestry herbicides and they all act differently. 2 of the main ones.....

Arsenal (Imazypyr) - Soil active with residual effects
Glyphosate - Foiler active no residual effect

What did the "timber guy" spray on you? Did you get an application report?

I am going to ask but I doubt i get a response. Talking to the timber manager, I said they could plant it the way it was and save on the spray. His response was oh it got sprayed. I dont know when but they should have notified us to exclude peosonnel from the property. Or so i thought.

Why would you want to invest capital in planting and not prepare the site so the seedlings have a chance to grow and survive? Seems odd you didn't know they sprayed.....who paid the bill? Kinda a strange scenario.

It was clear cut in late summer and nothing left to spray, Clean. They may have sprayed a pre-emergent. I could see where they sprayed some wisteria but wasnt really anything else to spray.

Should have waited to allow the site to resprout then spray to control competition. Competition will be back even though it's clean now. Probably will need to release seedlings in a few years. All depends on landowner goals though.

Half has already been mechanically replanted this past December. Area they planted is pretty much barren except for dry brush. Wish they would have burned it. Going to spray and plant the next half next winter or so they said. I guess i will see what comes up in the area they already planted this spring. Only interested in the soil residual action so as to determine if we can plant.
