    thanks all
a bunch of typing but it still seems to be a similar range of income per acre over time.
and yes, after logging, its a mess. that is expected. every new land owner says the same thing.
i am just trying to help make a decision about planting pines. I want people to know the value bc they tend to be told they will make millions, but they wont.
    Just my two cents...
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.

You’re not making millions unless you’re putting in millions. Only way to make a lot of money in timber is to have a lot of money to invest.

Unless you have some mature African Black Ebony. They can be worth a million per tree.

My old buddy who does my teeth over here played soccer and was our kicker in high school.. One of our first days of high school our freshman year he bounced in wearing umbro shorts. Our math teacher looked over and told him not to wear shiny underwear to school anymore

Or put nails in the trees.

As a rule of thumb, in the timber growing counties of SC, well planted loblolly will grow at a rate of $100 per acre per year.

Look at the arrest records. All of them are from out of state except one. Time for ball bats.

I work out a trade with someone to get it done. I don’t have the equipment or time. Would love to thicken it up with some planted pines but hate to plant any open fields.
