    Default Youth Weekend

As most of y’all know, I take my kids all the time. Not just youth weekend. I’ve only deer hunted one time this year without a kid of some sort. But, the youth day does sort of force folks to focus on the kids and be selfless. I wish the “youth season” went from noon Fri to noon Sun, but take what you get.

My 9 year old continued her perfect streak with a 109 lb doe, and a buddy’s son killed a 122 lb nanny. LOTS of kids exposed to the outdoors, hunter safety, and fellowship. Meals were blessed, hunts were prayed over, and general family values reinforced.

BOG death grip. My stance with turkeys is that you are allowed to try when you can hold the gun, sans blind, and shoot the bird. Deer are deer and deserve to die like deer. That Bog thing is amazing for kids. And, I’d rather shoot off of it than a shooting rail. With deer, I prefer to stack the odds in the kid’s favor. Suppressors, corn piles, tripods, claymore mines, etc. let kids have fun

We had ours Saturday also. Nothing was killed but the kids had a blast shooting bb guns and tromping thru the woods. I'll take that over them sitting in their rooms with their iPads and phones any day of the week. Had some good food afterwards too.
