    Default Pavilion Shed Build

We recently had a pool installed and decided that it was going to need a Pavilion/Shed. We found this plan online, tweeked it a little and now that baseball season is over, it's go time. I hope I can find enough freetime to have this finished by February give or take. Once the shed portion is framed up, I think the pavilion part should go quickly. Not much to that really other than setting the rafters and I'll likely sub out the roof.

This is what we are going for.

Hold up, I thought baseball was year around now... with travel ball and all.

    Nice shed.

A 10yr old that takes a day off of travel ball doesn’t have the commitment for D1 Ball.

That will be a sweet shed that y’all will enjoy!

    Screwing it...

Same way I built the shed. Every time I go to buy a dewalt battery powered framing nailer they are out. I can't bring myself to buy a pneumatic framing nailer. I'd never use it.

Just ordered this one to install at an HOA. It is 27,000 shipped, taxed and installed.

I like your design and the self build.

I'm keeping this simple but expect it to get closed in one day.

We looked at ordering somethign like that but since this is a poolhouse type thing, we needed the shed for storage, plus the outdoor bathroom will come in handy. I couldn't find anything else like what we are building.

LOL. It has California corners. Not that I plan on insulating it. It’s hard to tell from this angle though. And the cutouts for the side beams make it look funny also.

Are the California corners the ones that are rigid, higher than the others and hard to deal with?

California corner framing gives you a pocket in the corner that you can insulate vs stacking 2x’s together. There may be a structural benefit that I don’t know about but coming from the insulation world in a previous life, it provides or can provide a more energy efficient home especially if spray foaming insulation.

Back at it this weekend. Once I get the ridge beam set I should move along quickly (I hope).

I'm enjoying watching this. I have something similar I'd like to do.
How do you plan to set the set the big ridge beam?

I’m not doing traditional timber framing. I’m laminating rough sawn 2x’s. So I’ll set 3 individual 2x12’s on the braces and screw them together. The 6x6’s are not laminated but the side bead you see are laminated 2x10’s.

    Good look.

We decided to pit the three pole corners in the ground and pour the concrete around.
