    Default Easy deer camp menu

This is a deer camp menu that I've refined over the years while primitive camping in the SMNF. Perfect for deer camp or for a single guy that can't cook worth a shit.
I got home tonight and the wife wasn't feeling well so I had to fend for myself..

Porkcops smothered in Toney Chacherez creole seasoning on the grill. ( also works well with chicken, steak, etc.)

A can of sweet corn ( juice included) and a can of string beans ( juice drained) combined into one pot. A half a beer as needed and boil the shit out of it. Spices added as desired.

A jar of apple sauce chilled in the cooler.

    Makes a fine meal.

And the clean up is easy. A pot, a fork, a knife and a large spoon. ( paper plates are used at camp )

    You're welcome.

I can’t image that would be better than fried chops covered in some sawmill or red eye gravy, but I can’t knock it, ain’t tried it…

Growing up my mom would have pork chops and apple sauce on the dinner rotation - didn’t realize how fortunate I was to be introduced to the combo as a kid!!

Frying complicates things at deer camp. More clean up required when you don't have running water. Trying to keep it simple.
A few pics of steak at camp.

Well, we're sleeping in tents, no running water and shitting in the woods.

    What's your situation?

Well done Scatter. I like to freeze chunks or slices of ham from holiday meals in small portions. Brown in a skillet or sauce pan then add a can of butter beans, then a can of field peas/snaps, or even canned green beans from the garden. Easy one pot meal.

Our deer camp is off grid but we have natural gas on tap and generators so the meals are a little more refined.

Applesauce is meant for thick sliced fried bologna.

    and little else.
