    Default 12/11am First buck

Took the boy back this morning, crawled in late at about 7 and this deer was already on the corn. He was broadside at 213yds and I wasn’t about to let my 7 year old try that even though he was all in my ear about it. At 730 he had made his way to the foodplot to our left, broadside at 120 ish yards. He found him in the scope and I knocked the safety off. He said he was good and I was trying to slow him down because the deer wasn’t going anywhere. He squeezed, the deer jumped and ran the edge before going back across the foodplot and Shuler told me he didn’t hit him in the right spot. I asked where and he said back. Went to where the deer went in and found guts so we called my buddy and his Catahoula. Dog had him bayed in a pond in 15 minutes and after a wet ass and a boat ride Shuler’s got his first buck! Had the whole gang there for the recovery, great experience.

Impressed he knew where the shot hit even tho it was a bad shot. Most adults can't tell you where their crosshairs were when gun went off
