Never been a fanboy of any company….I always bought what felt best in my hands. I’ve owned Matthews, Bowtech, Elite, and New Breed…they were all incredible bows.
After the approximate time (year) the Outback and Switchbacks came out, I think the incredible leaps and bounds in improvements slowed dramatically. I mean, limbs can only be so parallel, cams can only be tweaked so much to eek out every drop is speed and/or smoothness, and aluminum risers can only be made so light/strong chasing the ideal combo.
There are some cool designs to minimize cam lean and make bows much easier to tune, but if you have a Switchback XT, you own one of the deer-murderingest bows ever produced. Get a new set of quality CUSTOM strings and cables, take it to someone who actually knows how to and will take the time with you to tune and set your bow up properly, and spend your money on some other gear you might need.
That bow is a quiet, smooth shooting killer.
