    Default What's it worth?

I've got a 2014 gmc sierra that the dealership says needs a new motor. I had the front end completely rebuilt 2 years ago and a new tranny(with coolant bypass delete) put in around 35000 miles ago. I want to sell it but have no idea what to start at as an asking price. Any suggestions?

Without knowing more details, it's impossible to provide an exact number. However, generally speaking, the asking price should be the total cost of buying and installing a new motor, plus an additional amount for the value of the vehicle before the engine failure. For example, if the cost of the new engine and installation was $10,000, and the Kelley Blue Book value for the vehicle was $15,000 before the engine failure, a reasonable asking price would be $25,000.

I think he is wanting to sell it without replacing the engine. If it currently doesn't run and drive you can't ask a whole lot for it

I think you added instead of subtracting ...

Kbb value minus cost of new motor seems fair to me.

Dang… I believe I’m going to go out in yard and drain oil out my trucks and blow the engine in each of them. How many you want to buy?
