I haven't killed one in a few years, not even a collared, killed several of those a couple years in a row, then that was it.

“Hog doggers” contribute to the hog problem? Am I reading that right? How so?

Hogs move to the bottom land in the spring/summer and back to the high ground in the fall./winter. You can set a clock/calender by them.

Gracious plenty on the properties along Pine Landing Rd.

As far as the beach proper, I haven’t. But our house is kinda up in the woods.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

I have had several guys over the years ask if they could trap and transport over the years.. complete no go. I had semi builder tell me once, he'd work in a special if he was able to grab some.

Little tiny doves with copper wings - you’ve seen em.

Ps - I was 36 before I knew they were federally protected.

That was 20 years ago. They were hauling them out of the swamps and turning them loose in Spt county creeks to "train" their dogs. They made some good dogs I will admit.

The hogs? They just ran right down the creeks to the rivers and back to the swamp...

USDA guys used to trap, shoot, and probably poison them in there with some success, but the pigs can out screw any halfassery by having 3 litters a year. If you want to kill them let people go in there and kill them day and night until they are gone.

Two kinds of land in SC. Land that has hogs and land that’s going to have hogs.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
