What fly do yall like to throw mid april-may?
    Any favorite Go-to Flies?
Tie Your own or do you buy?

I like a zug/prince bead head, 14-20, followed by a creation called "the specail sauce", basically a soft hackle hairs ear emerger with a copper band. This is my spring go to set up.

I both tie and purchase, not enough time in the day.....

I had a lot of success with a parachute adams last weekend, but then the caddis flies started hatching and I killed them on that. Few rivers around here require a perfect hatch match, but you will catch more if you throw what they are eating.

Early spring, on top I like a Stimulator or Adams about size 16. For nymphin' I love a prince + hare's ear. We CRUSHED em last weekend on the Chattooga delayed harvest water near the 28 Bridge. Nymphed till about 7:30 am, then went up top with the Stimulators. I buy all my fresh water stuff, but tie my saltwater flies.

Saturday was a loss, to high, muddy water....we pulled out maybe 5 fish all day. Sunday things got better with the water and the phrickin wind was a blowin, I hit the DH water of the EF French Broad, water, picked up a few 12" fish, nothing special. It really seems towards the end of the month that the fish in the DH are spooky as hell and have seen every fly in the book.
