    Default 42.9

42.9 miles. My longest continuous run to date. Ran the 6 hour event at the Delirium Ultra 6/12/24 in Beaufort yesterday. Weather was great! It stayed cloudy so the temperature never really went up. This was on a small hunting property where we ran a 1.6 mile loop around an old grown up field. My game plan was to run mid to high 8's unless I had competition, which I did... I watched a younger and faster guy take off running mid 7's from the start. I stayed close but knew better and backed off to my comfortable pace. I was getting a little worried that this guy was going to lap me, but was surprised to see on the tracker that I was in first place somewhere after the 50k mark. I ended up lapping the 2nd place guy twice, speed only gets you so far. I finished at 5:58:02, average pace 8:26. Big props to my friend Chris winning the 24 hour event with 117 miles. Couple of Colleton County guys grinding out wins over faster runners.

Congrats! If you ever get the itch to do some alpine events the Cirque Series is pretty cool.

While I have no desire to do anything like that, that is a pretty unreal feat. Congratulations to you!

I couldn’t imagine holding that pace for 6 hours. Great job.

Thanks. Those sound pretty cool but all appear to be out west.

Thanks everyone. I dropped out early on my last timed ultra event due to lower back issues. Finally seeing a chiropractor and getting some relief now.

Lol, My bad. My whole lower body was bitching at me yesterday. Did an easy 24 mile bike ride today, hope to get back running tomorrow. Got a road half marathon in 3 weeks then an 8 hour ultra early January to get ready for.

I cannot even comprehend what it takes to do that. My daughter is a marathoner so that's a close at I can get to knowing what you've done. I can only say, wow. What a feat.

    Absolutely amazing!

Hard for me to comprehend the training you must go through to compete like you do.

Absolutely incredible, and congratulations… but you’re nuts!

Seriously, I’m astounded at how anyone who isn’t running for their life can do that.

Good luck to you in your upcoming runs.
