What greater good does the open lands doctrine serve? I can think of nothing. I like the idea of shutting the door forever on law enforcement trespassing.

Dig a hole, shoot the sumbitch, put him in it, shut your mouth except for “I ain’t seen him”, end your problem.

Some days privatization of wildlife seems better. The North American Conservation Model is socialist in nature. So I guess the government had the right to protect the community own property (fish & wildlife).

Throwing out the baby with the bath water isn’t the answer. And using “protecting wildlife” as an excuse to violate the rights of people smells of chicken feces and cowardice.

I would hope the game laws would be enforced when an person is identified hunting and then checked, surveillance of private property without an warrant for game laws could go along way in the wrong direction.

In this case luckily for the guy it wasn’t a no knock warrant.

How's it open lands if it's behind a locked gate, with no trespassing signs on it?

    It’s not.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

I have a hunt club in the Lowcountry of SC and we had noticed that somebody has been trespassing on our property.
One day I finally caught him on our property and I had a few words with him. I found out he’s one of those DLEO boys.
I also found out that he goes around and goes on property’s to see if wants it and then contacts the owners and offers more money
To lease to him and then he sub-leases to out of state people at higher prices.
    Ain’t that some shit!
I have not seen him since our little discussion.

About six years ago, I was in the stand in late August, hot as hell, about to call it a morning, and I heard an engine coming.

Turns out it was some jackass on a motorized glider, flying over the timber. Probably rented the thing from somewhere in MB.

Deputy law enforcement officer. Something along the lines of of you manage or own a certain amount of acreage you can become deputized.

There was a guy that did this routinely in Florence and Darlington Counties. He didn't appear to have nefarious intentions as I stumbled upon his youtube channel, and he was more into sunset videos than wildlife. Annoying when you're trying to hunt and I have no clue of the legality, but the deer never paid him any attention. I don't think he had any free hands, but he was in buckshot range of deer for sure.

There's a guy who flys one over my farm between Conway/Loris all the time, he comes from the direction of the beach.

The real lesson in this is if you find a hidden cellular trial camera on your property 1) straighten your act up, 2) when you cut it down, don't take it home with you.

I’d like to know what happens if one takes the LEO camera off the tree on their on property and destroys it. No way to know it’s a LEO camera and it’s on the owners land. Interesting legal question.
