    Default Proud Papa

I couldn’t be more proud of my son.

We came to the camp for a long weekend. Took the a.m. off to do some errands and have lunch at the beach. Made it back with an hour and a half before sunset. Dropped the boat in the water and headed out. I chose a spot where the current was running and it paid off.

Had my slot red, a legal trout and a 20” flounder fairly quickly. It really hurt to throw the flounder back (thanks NCDMF).

Colt had mentioned that all he wanted was to catch a big red. He stuck with his choice of bait and did it all himself. All I heard was, “Get the net. GET THE NET!!!” I looked back and his rod was doubled over with line peeling off the spool.

This fish made my summer complete.

Congrats. What did I miss? You can’t keep a 20” flounder?

The good folks in the NCDMF said you can only keep 1 flounder (15”+) per person from 9/1-9/30 this year.

That’s a good one. Good job Colt.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
