Would loss of circulation equal suffocating cause of death? Always thought those were two different things?

Lack of oxygen from telling everyone he hunted in a saddle and he didn’t take time to breathe……..

His death is terrible. Your comment is pretty much spot on.

Definitely fishy. Doesn’t add up at all. If you are not in shape, I would not recommend a climbing method with a saddle other than a fixed ladder or sticks with a life line. I wrote an article that’s out in Carolina Sportsman this month about the basics of saddle hunting. In it, I say it is not for everyone. If you are obese, I would say to be extremely careful. If you don’t have the upper body strength to do a pull up or the coordination and strength to climb a rope, saddle hunting with a set of sticks probably isn’t for you. If you want to hunt preset stands with a ladder I think that would be safe.

Sounds like reason #2847368 every grown man should carry a pocket knife.

Yep. Should come in handy when someone tries to murder you while you're practicing climbing in your saddle.

Absolutely. Sad to see this story but this is one of about a million reasons I have 2 sharp knives on me while hunting. If, God forbid, I do have an accident with the climber, I can reach up and cut my harness so I'm not dangling until I die. I might sustain some injury on the fall, but I'll get out of the woods alive.

I carry one to church. Have needed it on more than one occasion to help open this or that.

What if he gets jumped by ninjers and has to knife battle his way back to the truck?

    Who'd be laughing then?

I keep extra glock mags, throwing knives for between rounds, knives, and at least three cans of dip.

Without fail, someone makes a comment about carrying a knife and dog pile of bullshit follows.

Reckon that fella’s abdominal fat was sufficient to obstruct normal breathing?

Carry an extra knife for the same reason you should carry an extra mag.

In the case of the knives when deer hunting, one knife is for field dressing, the other is smaller and would be quick to grab for cutting a harness if needed. I get that field dressing is a strange topic in the "shoot at corn, drive ungutted deer to the processor" capital of America.
