    Default Taxidermist

I’m in need of a taxidermist to handle a deer mount and wanting to go a different route from my normal guy. Not looking for someone who has a shop out back and does it “on the side.” I’m looking for the best of the best in SC or atleast within a 3 hr drive of the midlands. Figured I’d check here for recommendations before I make a 5 hr drive to take him to an outfit in Tennessee.

I’ve always had good work done by 301 and also by Chase Courtney.

Wildlife Creations in Conway. He’s handled more deer than anyone in the state.

Damn, a lot of recommendations with no examples of their work. I’ve alway been happy with great outdoors in bowman.

Suttons Taxidermy or Wildlife Creations. Carlisle Sutton did my bear rug and a Pronghorn and Stuart at Wildlife Creations has done multiple animals. Pronghorns are tough and most look like shit, if a guy can make one look good he’s got talent. These guys have loads.

I see their work on facetagramtok and it looks excellent.

There's a gal somewhere in NC that is an freaking artist. Amy's Animal Art Taxidermy or something like that. Not sure what she charges but based on the work she displays it appears to be worth it.

    Found it...

I don't think Amy takes deer anymore.

She's got a couple of fox and coyotes of mine as we speak.

    15mth turnaround.

Amy is top notch, but like Turbo says, she's cut back on how many deer she's taking in....might be worth a call though......she has a cat of mine i dropped off last Nov and don't expect it back until April next year.....Great Outdoors did a great job on my first velvet buck

check her fb for more work: https://www.facebook.com/amysanimalart/

Not the best quality pics since I had to lower the image quality for them to post. But I've got about a dozen done by Stuart Johnston at Wildlife Creations and they are all excellent. There is a reason he charges more than most other taxidermists.

After seeing her work I would love to send a critter up there for her to do. It's unreal.

Her reworks on bad taxidermy is incredible.

    No joke.

I'll send pics when I get my stuff back next year this time.

I have a great taxidermist but I wouldn't mention his name on here for nothing. He's already backed up enough and has quick turn around time. No need to change that situation.
