    Default Scope Mounting Help

Trying to get my scope mounted. I should have gone with high as the scope is sitting on the barrel. Regardless, something seems off. To me the rings should be orientated the same way but the scope wont fit. Flipping the front one back will work but with almost no ability to move the scope to adjust for relief. Is the scope a shorter length than normal? Something seems off. It is an older Vari X III.

Had the same problem with an A bolt and a savage with Talley rings, the vx3 tube is too short. I went with Leupold rings.

I have the same setup and run a DNZ one piece mount. No issues.

Long action ? If so I would go with a picatinny rail and place rings as needed.

Stick with the Tallys. Just turn the front one around. Totally do not need to be same direction. If the eye relief is ok, you’re good to go.

If it’s touching the barrel you’re SOL anyway. Talley makes rings with a longer base to alleviate this issue, call them as they are very helpful and will get you straight.

Talley is in santee. You can take it to them. Or a waren one or two piece picatinny with burris sinature z rings.

You're in Lexington. Drive to Santee. Time well spent.

Email Gary at Talley. Tell him what you have. He'll set you straight. I'll use Talley above anything else given the option regardless of cost. Customer service is top notch.

You solution lies with a call or a trip to Talley. I always call and say "I have X gun and Y scope. What rings?" Surprisingly they've never been wrong. LOL. Great company and fine product.
