They were thick Thursday ahead off the front. So fun to hear them come from the heavens and drop in fresh and new. Saw 5-600 Thursday. Shot em good. This am was four but damn sure should have had many more. Decent this season. No bands but enjoyed the chase and the people. And fwiw (if the right person sees this) we enjoyed watching that newest warden train this morning. She is a good looking thing!

They were definitely pushing through Thursday. I saw several high groups headed south.

    81 birds for the season.

No bands, but did see one get out of a flock with a long trailing piece of grass.
Stood there with an empty gun screaming at my 2 buddies, who apparently both had empty guns.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Always look for the trailing grass.

Had a bunch around 4 days before the opener. Numbers dwindled and haven't rebuilt to enough to hunt. Kershaw County.

We had a few dozen in a pond the beavers flooded for us this passed week. Busted the beavers up ahead of this potential rain event next week. In Kershaw as well.

Good call. We had hundreds in the decoys 15 min before shooting time in broad daylight. Gets annoying for sure.

    Had a good season though.

Beautiful looking pup but as far at the green jeans from the waist down, that could be Ezra A. LOL
Listen to your elders. Not because they are always right but because they have more experiences of being wrong.

Ha he had a couple inches (maybe more) on Ezra. Ezra is now an instructor and isn’t doing field work anymore. He is in charge of training the new wardens. I talked with him a while the other day on the phone, I couldn’t do his job.
