So Friday evening had 3 nice bucks come out right before dark. I picked this one out and made what I thought was a great shot. Waited 30 min til after dark and got down and left the area. Come back 2 hours later and started tracking. I had great blood, he even stopped at one point and you could tell it was a pass through with 2 large pools beside each other. Just beyond that it seems he took off and fast because blood was few and far in between. He hit a pinch point just beyond the pools of blood where he could've went 5 different ways. For the life of me I couldn't find blood and started getting discouraged. Tracked til 1 AM and decided to come back after sunrise. Come back and after a few hours I got on the 4 wheeler and just took a ride. Lo and behold there he was in the creek 1/4 mile away from where I had hit him, I had shot him in the liver.
I hate the meat ruined but glad I found the deer..
