    Default Trolling Motor Plug Help

This is a shot in the dark, but I’m looking for a 4-pin male plug to replace the current one I have on my trolling motor. The receptacle is a M-G Electronics 4-pin Trolling Receptacle. I found the receptacle replacement on eBay, but I can’t find the male plug. I believe Sea Hunt and Sea Pro installed a bunch of these M-G Electronic assemblies in their boat several years back (my boat is a 2010 Sea Hunt), but if M-G Electronics is still around, they don’t appear to sell this anymore.

Would anyone on here happen to know where I can purchase one of these plugs? Or would anyone have a plug laying around on an older Sea Pro or Sea Hunt that was never installed on a trolling motor that you are willing to part with?

This is a picture of the plug. (New vs. old)

I'm no help in finding a replacement. Why does it need four contacts? It only has three wires. Does this thing power more than the trolling motor, like maybe a depth finder too? If you can simplify to only two wires, SouthernWake is right...get a Battery Tender.

This is the one I used on my high tide build. I knew there had to be an option that was under ~$100. I think I only paid $100 for the trolling motor used, no way I was doubling my cost for the plug. Granted my trolling motor is 12v and 45lb

Don't know him from Adam, but he can do it right or do it again.

ETA: This is spoken for life down on the coast...lake life, YMMV.

I'm kidding.. there might be a chance he buys it: but there's also a chance he'll work up something with bubble gum and twine..

I have several buddies the exact same way....most have a gracious plenty but are just juryriggers when sit comes down to it. Was fishing with one several years ago...300k boat...the anchor line was tied together about 75' in with the most raggedy North Charleston knot you've ever seen. I turned around and just held it up to him without saying a word...he just shrugged and said "I know....someone ran over it at Rockville 3-4 years ago. It still works..."

Minn Kota also came out with a plug that screws down and seems pretty tight like a battery tender plug. Screw the marinco plugs I had one catch fire 2 years ago.
