I prefer the nostalgia of listening to the games on a scratchy, one speaker transistor radio whilst killing doves, but that is a sweet setup.

Is it just me or is everyone incredibly in touch with everything nowadays? A TV in a dove field? I’ll probably catch hell for this but every so often it’s just nice to not be connected to the world, especially now with this climate we’re all living in. It’s in sports we watch too.

I guess it’s just me, but I’d sure like to leave the TV at home and enjoy a dove hunt without all that.

I get ya, but sometimes when the doves are thin and the heat is brutal, its good to find a shade tree and listen to a football game. If I want to disconnect, I'm going deep into the woods or mountains.

Fond days of grilling leg quarters under shade trees, game on a truck radio, and then go shoot shoot. Couldn’t tell you what game was on, but I can tell you about the great friends that were there.

i asked an old man at the shooting club one day if he was going to watch the game.

“ I don’t do Specatator Sports” was his response

now, i’m right there with him.

As much as I loved playing football coming up and as much as I followed college football for years, it has gotten about like NASCAR to me.

It is ALL about the money now and its just ruined it for me.

Id rather be killing some wild animal, catching fish, or on my tractor these days

I fish in the mornings and watch football and nap when I get home.
